It's September and, in Canada, little ones are primed and ready to go back to school next week.
For us, it's a little different. Our eldest child is type 1 diabetic and needs a little bit extra preparation to get back into it.
At the start of each school season, we get a Back To School Basket ready. In this basket are various items, including: a sharps container, extra strips and lancets, a supply of fast sugars, charts and pictures that pertain to type 1 diabetes awareness, etc. Also, an integral part of day to day life, is eldest's log book and testing kit.
Each day we use this log book to communicate with the school about what nutritional items are in the snack bag for the day and the corresponding information necessary to keep blood sugars in check.
This system has proved helpful for us and other diabetics in our school have begun using the same system.
As a stay-at-home mother, it didn't occur to me ~ until recently, that I could turn this helpful information into a business. So, here I am, plugging my wares.
I am making my helpful book and information available to others so that they may make the best out of the home-to-school transition as painless as possible. I believe that keeping up communication with the school and making it easy to do so will ensure the best possible and consistent health for our little ones.
Would you be interested in having a communication book for your little ones to take to school with them?
How about a kit that included helpful advice and tips, lunch box ideas, etc.
I am currently putting the finishing touches on my project and would love your feedback and also to gain interest in the product. Tell me what you would like to see...
Thanks for your interest!
